Saffron is a plant known in botany with the name of "crocus sativus".
To make this spice, used in cooking, in cosmetics and in the pharmaceutical industry, they are used
the stigmas, the outermost part of the flower. Its active ingredients derive from the amount of crocin (coloringn power), safranal (fragrance) and picrocrocin (aroma), the substances that are part of the
family of carotenoids, the natural antioxidants par excellence. Saffron in nature is considered the king of antioxidants and also contains other elements useful to our body such as
vitamins B1 and B2 as well as natural flavorings.
Thanks to its active ingredients and its vitamins, saffron is used in pharmaceuticals for the treatment and prevention of various pathologies such as antidepressant, anti-stress and anti-inflammatory.
